On Wednesday I was in Prague. I’m there quite often, but this time it was different. I became a member of PSK (Police sport club)! This means that I will become a sport instructor and will be supported by the Police sport club which works under the Ministry of Internal Affairs! I was offered this position thanks to my nomination to the Olympic Games and steady race results in both of my disciplinesຯ

I didn’t stay there long and rode back home, by car to Príbram and then on my bike. Thankfully I have a nice team colleague who wouldn’t leave me on my own and waited for me in Strakonice and accompanied me on my way home. I didn’t feel too well, the World Cup races took all my energy. So we pushed and pulled each other with Pepa all the way home.

While riding, thoughts were running through my head. So what exactly is waiting for me in August? I realized that winter was the time not to prepare myself for the Olympic nomination, but to prepare myself for the possibility of not attending this sport holiday. I figured I will have to wait until London ຯ but now I’m suddenly one of the olympionics and now I’m realizing what is changing ຯ not just the PSK membership, that is the nice part, also celebrating with the others in Beijing J, but also try the pressure one feels when standing on the start line under the five Olympic rings and find out what is the atmosphere on such a big event! Until now my biggest event were the World Championships. And most of all manage to reach a good result which will motivate me into the next races. Thanks to the Czech cycling federation I will be able to concentrate and prepare myself for three weeks in Livigno.

Thanks to my stay in Livigno I am not sure about my participation at the Czech MTB Championships in Velké Losiny or at the road time trial. The time trial will probably be the nomination race for the World and European Championships, so I will most likely leave out the MTB race. This year is the first year when I plan to take part in the European Time Trial Championships, which will take place in Italy, not far from Livigno. This race will be part of my preparation for the Olympics, because the track is also fast and not too technical. And once I have my form then I will pay my attention do design. I plan to work on all small details. I will ride on my new carbon Superior!

I have never been behind the Great Wall of the world and I am really curious what the world looks like there! All this also has its dark side, mainly school ຯ I have postponed my leaving examination to September, but as soon as I postponed it I found out that on August 26th I will fly from the Olympics straight to the next World Cup race in Australia, where next year’s World Championships will take place. I will return home during the first week of September. So am I going to study at the Olympics?! But I’m not able to study even at the World Cups, how could I possibly concentrate at the Olympics? I guess I have to deal with it. By now I have my experience, I haven’t been going to school on a regular basis since my second high-school year.

I’m not sure if I can combine two goals, in the winter I always do all my exams in school and in the summer I concentrate on all the races and championships. But I have to get it done, because on May 27th and June 12th I’m taking college entry exams in Olomouc and then in Prague. So after the European Championships I have a new goal — learn everything for my exams!
